when I tell people I was raised by dead people and land spirits, it sounds like a funny meme, but I’m really not kidding. My parents were unfit and unavailable caretakers. My grandmother, who I spent more time with, was very very ill. I lived in the projects of the lower east side before my brother was born, and then we lived in a rural part of new york.
